In the 14 th evening of Adivasi Mela – 2011, Hon’ble MLA, Bangiriposi Smt. Saraswati Hembram, Hon’ble MLA Talasara, Dr. Prafulla Majhi and Hon’ble MLA, Mohana, Sri Chakradhar Paika had attended as guests.
Smt. Hembram in her speech had compared the simple life of the tribal with the simple autumn Basanta Panchami Saraswati Puja. The present government is giving much emphasis on the development of tribals, their educational, agricultural, Health, Industrial, Communication aspects in particular. The women of the coastal Orissa are being self reliant but the women in the tribal areas are not being developed due to their illiteracy. Orissa’s development can be possible with the communication and development of the tribals.
Hon’ble MLA, Talasara in his speech gave a brief overview about the tribal life style, traditions, dialect and culture. He emphasised that we must have to see the displacement and rehabilitation of the tribals in the face of industrialisation, which will be beneficial for Orissa.
Hon’ble MLA, Mohana in his speech said that the Adivasi Mela is the right forum for tribals cultural integration, selling of the minor forest produces and tribal products. How the tribal products are reaching to the Urban people and they are setting out of the tribal produces is important today. He gave emphasis on the development of tribal education in particular their engineering & medical education. The poverty of Orissa can be removed by the mainstreaming of the tribals by development of their educational statutes. The development of the tribal is the development of Orissa.
